Yes! In fact, we recommend reservations for all infant care due to limited space in the Bright Start. Reservations may be made for infants 17 months and under. However, in consideration of other families needing service, if an infant does not arrive by their reserved time, that time slot will be released to another family. Families who fail to cancel a reservation at least 24 hours in advance are at risk of losing the ability to make reservations and will be on a drop-in basis only.

Bright Start Early Learning Center is all about flexibility. Our programs are tailored to your family’s needs, whether you’re looking for occasional drop-in care, flexible part-time care, flexible preschool, and more!

We care for children 6 weeks to 5y ears old and design activities to help kids at all stages of development learn and grow through purposeful play. Our bill-by-the-minute system ensures you’re only paying for the care you need and not a minute more.

No appointment necessary, but we do accept reservations if you want to be sure to have a spot open for your child. You’re also welcome to call to see if a last-minute spot is available. Reservations will not be held beyond the reserved time. If you are concerned about your child transitioning into the center, you are welcome to call your center to find out what are the best times to come when it may not be as busy.

You may stay for a few minutes, but keep in mind your child may interpret this as a “play date,” and it could result in a more difficult separation for them when you leave. Parents who wish to stay for an extended period will be asked to undergo a DFPS criminal background check for security purposes. You can always feel free to call and check on your child anytime! If we miss your call, it is because we are serving another client. We check voicemail regularly and will return your call as soon as possible.

We are happy to help your child transition to the potty! Children 3 and older must be potty-trained. We maintain a potty-training record for each visit and will take them to the potty every two hours or less as needed. Bring pull-ups and at least one change of clothes with a sealable plastic bag for soiled garments. They are training after all, and despite our reminders, children will sometimes be preoccupied playing and forget to let us know they need to potty.

Socks are permitted, Children’s shoes are not permitted beyond the interior door. You may leave your child’s shoes in the cubbies at the front reception.

We provide a healthy morning and afternoon snack. Snacks will follow a predetermined snack schedule that will be shared with families. Families are welcome to provide an alternative snack as needed. We do not provide lunches. We ask families to send a healthy lunch each day. Parents are asked to provide all formula, breast milk, and/or baby food needed for infants in our care. We take food allergies and sensitivities very seriously, and they must be documented when you enroll your child. Please be specific as to what foods your child is allergic to. A child with food allergies will be identified with a special Allergy Alert sticker next to their name tag that identifies their allergies. Please provide snacks and meals for your child if they cannot eat the food we provide. Their tag will be clearly marked “HOME FOOD ONLY!”.
